Secondary Education Licensure

In addition to Christian Education (or another minor), you may choose the teacher licensure option.  This option provides qualified Roanoke students the opportunity to dual-enroll at Elizabeth City State University as a transient student.  After completing the licensure requirements, students may have their names and records submitted to the North Carolina State Department of Public Instruction for the purpose of receiving state licensure for teaching in public schools.  You may gain licensure to teach in secondary school in a number of areas such as math, history, English, etc.

The Christian Education minor also becomes a good choice because it offers the greatest number of free elective hours.  These electives may be taken at ECSU and then transferred back to RBC to satisfy the minor requirement.  Additional hours past the minor would be needed for licensure.  This is a 5-year program.
