How to Borrow
On campus visitors may borrow items as long as they are not needed for student use. They may have limited checkout time. Visiting patrons will complete a personal information form and will be given a Patron Number.
Late or Lost Items
Overdue fines are levied against late items. Overdue items must be returned and fines paid before other checkouts or renewals will be allowed.
Fines for circulating books are $.50 per day; videos, $1.00 per day. Unreturned books will incur replacement charge (minimum of $30.00) plus a non-refundable processing fee of $5.00.
How to Borrow
Active alumni and members of supporting congregations may participate in online library borrowing. Parties interested in borrowing materials online should first submit a Patron Application after reading this entire policy. Please completely fill in your personal information to ensure prompt review and response.
Once you have read this entire policy and have received permission to borrow materials, you may Request Material. Be sure to include your Patron Number and complete material information so that we may promptly expedite your request.
Material borrowed will be given a date due. If you find that you need an item longer, call the Circulation Desk (252-334-2057) or e-mail the library to see if an extension may be granted. (It may already be reserved elsewhere for use at a specific time.) Reference books, books placed on reserve, periodicals, materials in high demand, and rare and fragile materials are not available for loan.
Upon first request, one item will be sent. (Mail service will only be offered in the continental United States.) At the same time, you will receive an e-mail informing you of the materials sent, date sent, date due, cost of mailing, and any other pertinent information.
The borrower will return material by UPS or US Postal Service, and will include reimbursement for initial shipping, as well as an additional handling charge of $2.00.
