President Clay Perkins

D. Clay Perkins, Ph.D., became President of Roanoke Bible College on July 1, 2006. Clay is an energetic, positive, encouraging servant in God’s Kingdom. His current role allows him to play a part in training extraordinary leaders for the Kingdom of God. His inauguration is September 29, 10:00 a.m., in Chesson Gymnasium on the Roanoke campus.

Ordained at Pinedale Christian Church in Winston-Salem, NC, he has served as associate minister at Peachcrest Christian Church in Georgia, minister at Hickory Lane Church of Christ in Ohio, church planter at Piedmont Christian Church in North Carolina, and senior associate minister at First Christian Church Ministries in North Carolina, where he also served as Administrator of First Christian Academy.

Clay has earned a B.A. and B.Th. from Atlanta Christian College, an M.M. and M.Div. from Cincinnati Christian University, and C.A.G.S. and Ph.D. from Regent University School of Leadership Studies. He also attended Fuller Theological Seminary, D.Min. Program.

A love for missions called Clay to serve on mission trips to New Zealand, Haiti, and Mexico. He has also been on numerous mission trips in the continental US. He has written several articles published in The Christian Standard. Leadership is his passion. His focus is on teams, and he has coached and taught in both faith-based and non-faith-based organizations, profit and non-profit organizations. He has taught Leadership at Winston-Salem Bible College and in the graduate school at Kentucky Christian University. He has also designed a class in Team Leadership for Regent University.

Clay is married to Sandra Sechrest from Reidsville (NC) Christian Church. Sandra received a B.S. degree from Atlanta Christian College, where she served as pianist for several music teams. Sandra has a NC Real Estate License and Mortgage Loan Officer License. Clay and Sandra have two adult sons: Daniel and Benjamin. Daniel and his wife, Stephanie, live in Charlotte, NC. Daniel is a computer engineer with Zapata Engineering. Daniel and Stephanie are members of Kinetic Christian Church in Charlotte. Ben is a jazz guitar music student at UNCG School of Music and is assistant worship minister at First Christian Church in Kernersville, NC.

Clay loves the outdoors and enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping. Clay and Sandra own a cleaning business that services the International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, NC.
